A car is not necessarily only a means of transport It also carries a lot of social duties, such as personal transport, personal prestige image, family duties and carrying odd sporting gears, or oversized shopping such as a carton of BBQ from the hardware store or four sets of Golf bags for every occupant.
The possibility of a multi-purpose car is endless; however, being a cool person doesn’t have to scarify by downgrading one’s personal transport restrictive to a delivery van for that matter. The Audi A5 sportback is just the dream car that you need. In terms of practicability, interior carrying capacity can be extended to 980 litres from the already generous 480 litres, with the rear seats folded.

The roof line of the A5 is more streamlining towards its back. It resembles o a Jaguar XK which is also a gorgeous looking car. In addition, the A5 Sportback is not just being chopped at its Top Hat roof to fit in with the roof line, but the whole car gives a more practical but superb essence to its sporty but carrying luggage purpose. For a start, it rides lower with 17” alloy wheels. New panels are also designed to give the A5 sportback a wider look with a shorter overhang both for the front and the rear. The A5 retains the full length wide shield chrome front grille as its hall mark elegant fascia. Some loves it while some would say it is a little ageing. However, I like it.
The interior is practical and unlike a lot of German cars, it is more stylish with audio visual, SatNav control dotted to the right spot, even with a fool proof Stop Start button on the front passenger side. Tiny electronic parking lever, located on the central console, near to the driver’s side, is being used for creating more elbow space for the driver.
The interior design of the central console for the air-con and audio is up market but not too fancy. It has sufficient head, shoulder and even legroom for the sub 1.8m tall back seat passengers. On the other hand, the centre seat has been turned into a nice hand rest with a dedicated cup-holder.
How does the drive like?
It has a solid German built quality. The acceleration is nice with the TFSI petrol engine which pumps out 155kW of power and 350Nm of torque. Engine power is available from 1,500 to 4,200rpm. It has such a wide range of power band that gives the car a good performance without sacrificing smoothness and unnecessary gear change. You can feel the car demands more play and interaction.
Throttle response is sensitive if it is on Sport mode or you can just leave it on D for a cocooning-relax drive experience. Suspension is firm but not bumpy and guarantees ironing out all bumps while gives out a comfortable all round ride for the family, but still retaining a very enjoyable sport car feel.
The Quattro drive helps maintain some honest and reliable grip on cornering duties. In addition, the Quattro system shares that steering and traction control duties that make the famed Audi 4 wheel drive system very handy for wet weather or performance driving. Furthermore, the 7 speed auto keeps everything under control. The enthusiastic direct injected engine slips 6.6 litres per 100kms which gives out a very impressive 0 to 100km in just around 6.1 seconds; in that kind of motoring logic, it is value for money.
I have a very good impression about the A5 Sportsport. It is big, luxurious but not clumsy. It gives the driver a lot of toys to pay with and given the fact that its bullet proof Quattro all wheel drive system, it is a bargain for such a wonderful car.

内部装潢相当实用，不过同绝大多数的德国车不一样的是，它还特别讲究了时尚性：完美的视听设备、精准的卫星导航控制系统可以带你去到任何地方，在前排乘客一侧有「傻瓜型」的开始和中止按钮，相当容易操控。位于中央控制台的小巧型电子停车杆，靠近驾驶者一侧，令驾驶者可以有更多的肘部活动空间。
中央控制台的空调和音响设计都相当与时俱进，不过并不花哨。对于身高1米8的后排乘客来说，头部-肩部和腿部都有足够的空间，此外，后排的中心座位变成了带杯架的扶手。

该车留给我的印象甚好，它豪华宽大却不显笨拙，给予了驾驶者足够的乐趣，这样的价格能够拥有防弹全时四驱系统，的确划得来！
