生活标准低，工作压力大。越是这样的环境，香烟就越是成为不可或缺的精神支柱。新加坡对烟草课以重税，因此造成香烟价格奇高，基本是在11元左右，比香港还贵一倍。但是市场的法则是有需求就有供给，市面上的低价Z私香烟屡禁不绝。虽然买私烟要冒着巨额罚款和挨鞭子的风险，我们还是抵不住这样的诱惑。
买烟的时间是在晚上的七点左右，据说这是警察换班的时间。我们在芽笼街上拥挤的人流中搜寻着烟贩子的身影。他们总是躲在街边某个垃圾箱的旁边，脚下的椅子上放着样品，谈好价钱后，就在旁边的垃圾箱里取货。我们一个人跟他交易，其他的人望风，一旦发现警察来了，就要拼命跑。我问旁边的兄弟：“咱们能跑得能有警察快吗？”那哥们满不在乎地说：“只要跑得比烟贩子快就行了。”
“交易”地点
经过一番讨价还价，以57元十包的价格成交。迅速把烟装进背包里然后离开，感觉就像后面背了个炸弹一样。而当平安到家，大伙坐下来“分赃”的时候，我们也就忘记了几分钟前的惶恐不安，在缭绕的烟雾中喜笑颜开了。
分“赃”
烟来得如此不易，因此用量也从以前每天两包烟减为五天两包烟。一根烟有时还要分为几段来抽，最后那一段不抽到烧着了过滤嘴是舍不得扔的。想起一位朋友，明明烟瘾很大，偏偏喜欢在憋急了的时候才抽一根。点着了，猛吸一口，脑袋就晕晕的。他说，这才是烟的味道。我突然有所领悟，人生何止百味，一一品尝之后，方能品出真谛。看来将我等脑满肠肥之士放逐江湖，接受艰苦生活的再教育，确是很有必要！
